Since we first opened our doors in 2000, CHPT has been dedicated to serving our patients with the highest quality care. Owner Susanne Callan-Harris, who grew up studying dance herself, has been involved with caring for dancers for many years. She began working with the Rochester City Ballet (RCB) with PT backstage and prior to performances--in addition to sewing and fitting many of their costumes when the company was just starting out. She then began working with students from Rochester City School District's School of the Arts (SOTA), for their annual dance concert. Many of the students do not have access to physical therapy, so Sue started going to the school prior to performances to treat as well as educate the students on injury prevention. As CHPT grew, Sue hired staff that have background in dance and the performing arts. Staff members also share in the committment to RCB and SOTA, and participate in many community education programs.
Sue is on faculty at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, and treats student musicians on campus. She teaches the Keys to Healthy Music course, required for freshmen.
